Should I add some thin cover of non-conductive material between alu cover and capacitor poles??
What if you lined the aluminum with sound deadening material like Dynamat sheets used in mobile audio? It’s about 2-3mm thick. Of course, Use the non-foil faced type

I think it would definitely be wise to use something Juntuin. You never know if someone or something could flex the case while in operation. Doesn't take a lot to deflect aluminum 5mm and short out your caps. I like the Dynamat idea. I was also thinking about Kapton tape. Then you would get some heat transmittance and keep the case a tiny bit cooler. Whatever you choose, good luck! Another awesome looking build so far!
Thinking about power supply for B.B.
I have previously used aluminium cased 25w resistors in CRC supply. I like them a lot but they are quite expensive and I would like to go with other route this time. Are these white boxy 10w wire wound resistors any good in power supply? Two 10w 0.2ohm in parallel = 0.1ohm and 20w of power handling. Thinking about CRCCCRC, is there any matter where the R's and C's are? 2x30V toroids being used, so two R's to reduce ripple and voltage a little.

Usually 2 months waiting to finland, so that's not an option..

I’ve been playing around with a few different psu configurations for the Alpha BB and this CRCLC combo seems to be very good.
The trafo is 600va, 2x32vac,
R=3 paralleled .68r resistors,
L=Hammond 159ZJ,
C=22,000uF
38vdc loaded with Alpha BB
It’s extremely quiet, no noise at all from the speaker

Nice psu I know benefits of adding L, but never tried it. Those 3 paralled resistors are 3watters? Does they get even warm?

Yes they do!! Too hot, I will eventually replace them with a single .22R big watt resistor
I’m currently using a fan to keep them cool.

Ok, good to know so alu profile 50w's it is then. (cheaper than 25w)
Hey X,
Happy Fathers Day!
The big caps are also 22,000uF, but 100v!
I had them from an old project.
Thanks! I got to build all-SMT amps all day - that was fun actually. Mosfly practicing on smaller projects with new hot air SMT rework gun for a big epic 4 layer mixed analog/digital board for another project.
This is a new general purpose 8v to 18v input, isolated from dual +/-12v to +/-20v asymmetrically adjustable outputs with TI 4uV rms LDO regulators and slow ramp cap multipliers for up to 310mA for many smaller dual rail amps and preamps. Very compact and no wall mains needed anymore. JPS64 did the layout and I hand etched using a laser printer. First time using tiny (0.65mm pitch) leadless quad flat packs. Amazing that they worked with no solder bridges.

X,
Pretty cool projects you’ve got going on. I’ve been trolling
Nice work!!
Thanks, Vunce! I just got a new hot air SMT soldering gun (more like a like pencil) and I have to say, it makes SMT soldering easier and higher quality.
