the circuit posted by teleman features 47u 'lytics in series to the 120R resistors. This alone justifies a relaxed view of the 'nescessary' matching needs, which we have no idea of, because the balanced input circuit at the receiving end is unknown.

JK would you or someone else care to explain the relationship between these two? ie: the 120R & the 47uF cap?

Thanks guys...a steep learning curve indeed! great discussion!

the coupling caps impedance adds to the outputs resistor. At 50Hz, the main(s..lol) frequency of interest, this results in an output impedance of app. 190 ohms. Hence 1/3 of the output impedance is not from the resistor. So the capacitors tolerance of 5-10% at best swamps any attempt to match the resistor.
Not a big issue Imho.
If Neve gets away with those caps, you would probably too.

JK,you're absolutely right!..I've now ordered the parts & will test this on a breadbord. Will post the results soon.

Thank you indeed VIVAVEE for spotting the oversight What an illuminating discussion!.... more the reason why we need people like you! AndrewT & Analog_SA many thanks for kicking my b---! IT REALLY HELPED!

Thanks Guys!
