Very interesting all this, I'm building a bicycle-soundsystem for a friend and am using the amp 3 kit successfully(great sound!!!).
But I was also thinking of upgrading my car soundsystem, I just thought of installing a 24V truck battery and an extra dynamo(generator..) and a charge-circuit to get the power(no worries of emptying my car-battery).
Then build an autocostruire(.it) taa4100a 4ch kit(or two to get an 8ch amp)....
But I guess this will normally cost a lot more than most of you have in mind..
