Apologies for resurrecting an old thread, but I'd agree there is a good market. I'm in the market for something like what ALW talks about for my CD67SE ... did anything come of this? As far as I am aware, in the small (SMD-based) "drop-in" sector has some pretty exxy ($$) items:ALW said:I reckon there's a good market for a 3-terminal replacement that crams as much performance as we can muster into a suitable footprint. Burson sells Suepr Regs (Quite BIG ones) - http://www.bursonaudio.com/Burson_Super_Regulator.htm and http://www.tnt-audio.com/accessories/burson_regs_e.html
These from Effective Audio Mods in Singapore: http://www.effectiveaudiomod.com/Prod_Reg_Ultima.htm
Putting aside the larger ones like the Audiocom Invisus, PFM Flea, PerAnders, the ALW Superreg (and a host of others) has anyone put together a DIY DROP-IN super-reg that my wife could solder up (not kidding, she's an Electronics Engineer, I don't even know which end of soldering iron is the hot end ...).
I make no claims to know nothing about either Audio or Electronics, I guess I just like a DIY challenge and good audio at the end of it (hopefully) without going OTT price-wise. For me that's what DIY is about, although some of these discussions can really become long debates!
Cheers!
