Moode Audio Player for Raspberry Pi

I hit the same error.

pip install MechanicalSoup fails as above.

Phil

Hi, Phil.

Curiously, the v0.9.0.tar.gz file I just downloaded directly from the MechanicalSoup github page does have the requirements.txt file while the .tar.gz file used by pip doesn't. I tried running pip --no-cache-dir install to make sure it got a fresh download but it made no difference. I'm not sure where pip gets its sources.

One step at a time.

Kent

Hi Kent,

Whats the error?

I re-ran pip on an image I built a few days ago and got the output below.

Hi, Tim.

See my first message for the error message.

pip is getting MechanicalSoup-0.9.0.post2.tar.gz from pypi.python.org. This tarball does not contain the requirements.txt file expected by its own setup.py.

My work-around this morning was to download v0.9.0.tar.gz directly from Releases * MechanicalSoup/MechanicalSoup * GitHub, untar it, and cd to its top directory, and install it using
Code:
sudo pip setup.py install

Turned out I also had to install the debian packages libxml2-dev and libxslt1-dev to succeed, but succeed I did. Then gmusicapi installed without a hitch and I now get the same report you show above.

This is not a moOde issue (just to be sure, I confirmed that it happens on my Linux Mint host too). I'll try to figure out how to ping the pypi maintainers.

Having an interface to Google Play Music is a side show for me, but since the code is there I had to try it!

As an aside, during the MechanicalSoup install on an RPi3B, one CPU was pegged at 100% for quite a while, and I was down to about 77MB of free memory, so I'm thinking this is a nonstarter on lesser RPis.

Regards,
Kent

@Tim

Is there a reason why on the library view, landscape on smartphones, artists column is so small compared to the genres one?

DpImbQS.jpg

CSS bug? #lib-artist class extends below the browse button, as you can see the lower part of the scroll bar is hidden.
Also IIRC height of Genres is hardcoded in pixels while the other is in percentage.

(forgive the look of the scroll bars, tested on chrome developer tools, but confirmed on various phones)

On desktop/laptop layout is fine. Also on some tablets.

Phones needs work. As you see in the picture Like the UI is not responsive or something (no webdev :D)

Also on portrait mode, still on phone, artists and genres disappear.

Forgot if it was like this in past. (this on 4.0b7)

I've raised an issue on MechanicalSoup's github page:

Install using pip fails * Issue #161 * MechanicalSoup/MechanicalSoup * GitHub

Hi,

It does not have the smarts to reconfigure the Library panel column heights for Smartphone Landscape.

I think you can get better looking scrollbars on chrome via a setting in chrome flags. chrome://flags

thanks tim.
relaxed trying 4.0b7 on the 1B+ today. Sometime it sweats :D

I get a 100% cpu usage spike when hitting volume buttons in the Web UI.
I click vol +/- and the volume shown reacts ~5/10 seconds later.
UI slow to update the volume.

While playing flacs it stays around 20/30% cpu usage.
As soon I touch the volume buttons in the web UI it shots to 100%.

checking top while changing volume:
"av probe --show streams" comes on top at 60% cpu for a second then disappears.

Pi 1B+ too slow? time to use it as weather webcam and buy a model 3 for moode? :D

Rasp 1b+, IQ audio pidac+, attaching sys settings.

Note the latest file, now qualified by .post4 instead of .post2, was downloaded from an alternative site. I suppose it takes awhile for pypi.python.org to catch up.

thanks tim.
relaxed trying 4.0b7 on the 1B+ today.

Hi,

Prolly the EQ eating CPU cycles. Most of the DSP will clog a non-overclocked 1B.

Graphic EQ = Test

-Tim

oh yeah forgot when i took that log the eq was on.

Disabled everything, rebooted and it does the same.

Also... it does that even when it's not playing anything!!!

as you can see from this htop screenshot, if i click volume buttons multiple times, even if it's not playing anything and stopped, there are 3 instances of "php-fpm: pool www" robbing nearly all the cpu.
Is it refreshing the whole UI every time I click a volume button?
