Correct.
To be a pedant myself, Westfield Do the 11 replica, not did.
I got to drive a real one from Wolverhampton > Bridgenorth and back - 76bhp goes a loooong way when powering a hollowed out bar of soap!

I built a Dutton roadster in 1979.

Well under a ton in weight, 90 BHP at the wheels :D:D:D:D

PS it did not fair too well with a Derbyshire dry-stone wall !!!!!

There are a few things I added over the years. The first one was an exhaust add on, what it does is increases back pressure at low speeds so that starting from a stop gives better acceleration, on highways, it has a vortex generating device that uses flow outside the tail pipe to suck the exhaust out which increased mileage by about 10% on the highway only. The second device was something containing some material that was supposed to generate infrared energy to excite the fuel molecules making it easier to burn completely, this probably increased mileage on highway only by almost 5% (similar method used in air intake duct had no influence). Third device used on the batteries, don’t know the English name for it, is supposed to pickup backrush current, this device saved fuel only in the city, I think it was around 5%. The current device being tested is developed by myself, currently seems to save around 10% in the highway, not sure about city yet, but it it works by reducing back pressure airflow in the intake duct while at the same time generates vortex to allow better air intake mix and reduce flow resistance around airflow turns.

Ah appears they started batch production of the 11 again. Back in about 2006 they did some then stopped again.

280HP. Pah, that's only mildly scary. Over the 350HP mark it gets really silly :). There are a lot of willy wavers in the Lotus 7 club mind who will waste ridiculous money to get the most power for no good reason.

I'm experimenting with 'filtering' car electrics lately.
Hyundai LC Accent 1.6L Twin Cam.
Runs smoother, sweeter, pulls a bit harder, much sweeter toward higher revs (4000 or so), feels more responsive and more 'on the vacuum'.
I haven't checked fuel yet but was getting 50+ imp mpg, might be a bit better.

...under the monitor all night.
Try under the cables, pwr and signal, experiment with 180* directions of cables wrt each other.
Ditto audio power, signal, speaker cables.
Listen for subtle change in noise products including decay characteristic, consequent instantaneous dynamics, rhythm, overall clarity and intelligibility changes.

Newer cars generally have better mileage, currently I am focused on older cars. I frequently rev my car up to 6000rpm, seems that it cleans out the engine pretty well. Oh, I have also been using spark plugs without the hooks which generate three sparks.
