Daphile - Audiophile Music Server & Player OS

More problem, installed ok, able to rip CD no problem. Hook up the DAC, Tried 2 types(one at the time), XMOS and Cmedia based, the Daphile was able to detect both DAC under the Audio device setting. Play a track, it seems to play alright, the problem is NO sound output from either device.
Any suggestions?

Thanks got it. A few questions:

1. When down the Daphile laptop and power it back, on booting it up it shows network connection of hotspot not the a fixed IP address? why?

2. when I powered down the Daphile laptop and powered it back, why I now cannot find the CD I ripped last time. It's not there, is it because I didn't save it?

Did you click on "Save and Restart"?

If it is ripped, it will be there. If the CD artist is unrecognised, it may be under "Unknown Artist". In that case, you should use MP3Tag on a Windows PC to open the folder and insert and save some metadata to the files/folder and rename it too.

It says system file is read only, cannot be saved, where is the save button?

You need another USB drive. Load under new installation.. Boot from this new USB drive. Then the save button will let you save..... Download the installation pdf file on daphile site and read

I am not sure what you mean, I did a fresh install and log into Daphile from remote tablet, under setting and system firmware, the button to restart does not contain save sign that should come with it, can you explain what I have done wrong?
So how can save and restart?

Rewrite: Installation Made EASY

1. Direct connect laptop/PC via Ethernet cable to the router(easier, once setup then use wireless.)
2. Input USB stick with Daphile and boot up to Daphile and then input F1
3. Answer the questions offered by Daphile the last question static Ip no. I input NO.
4. The laptop/PC must have an harddrive resident. You can either erase the HD from
Daphile install or erase separately.
4. Daphile comes back with the address: 192.168.1.16(yours could be different.)
5. Go to another PC/Tablet and activate the browser, Chrome and input: 192.168.1.16
6. the Daphile menu will appear on your remote PC/tablet, go to settings/system firmware and execute installation.
7. After installation you access Daphile via the remote PC or Tablet using this IP address.
8. That's it, not finish yet.
9. Power down Daphile PC and then power up again without the USB attached, this press F1 AGAIN to configure the wifi settings on the PC's hard drive.

Wi-FI - your home router name, e.g. wlan-ap
password- N
input password, it will be displayed
static ip- N
confirm-Y
10. IP address: 192.168.1.15 is displayed, this address may not be the same as above
11. go to Setting and execute save and reboot, this part is important otherwise you cannot access Daphile PC after you reboot it.

After so many hours involved in the installation procedure hope it(Daphile) sounds good, better if not equal to my JRiver running on Windows 8.1. Otherwise all my effort and others too(time spent) will be wasted.

Thanks again everyone you have been a great help.

It has something to do with your hardware or network. Does it happen on all tracks? Also how do you find daphile compare with jriver soundwise?

Yes it occurs on all tracks, the sound pauses for about 4-6 Seconds and then resumes. Buffer overflows? Any solution?
The sound has good promise I will write more about it later after a few more assessments on more tracks.
