Just watched No Country For Old Men and all I can say about it is I want that two hours of my life back.
It took me three tries to figure out what the appeal was. The Coen brothers have a strong life is s**t and then you die vibe.
Worse than Freeway?"Big little Lies" - more potty mouth than I can ever remember hearing from Reese.

That might have been more down to the author, have you read The Road?

No, not my thing "Miller's Crossing" turned my stomach BTW. Jodorowsky's "Fando and Lis" is more what I go for. A good film should clear 90% of the room in 15min.

Me too, I couldn't take all the violence. The Coens are excellent story tellers, they don't need to cheap out and result to all the violence. I feels it's too easy, too cheap. Tarantino does the same thing. He doesn't have to."Miller's Crossing" turned my stomach BTW.
Just came home from seeing "Gifted". What an excellent movie. Real characters played by skilled actors that make you care about them. With a story that don't devolve into cliches. Chris Evans was perfect as was Octavia Spencer and the rest of the cast. Highly recommended.
Hulu/Bravo streaming series "Handmaid's Tale" - sure, I just finished reading the book, so there's no spoilers to worry about, but I'm quite liking the handling of the interior monologue and flashbacks - can't wait to see how the epilogue plays out
BTW, Margaret herself had a brief, fuzzy background appearance as one of the Aunts - her hair gave it away.

"Chitty Chitty Bang Bang" -- and if any of youse laughs, well fie upon your stinking corpse!
I smell children, not that kid friendly at least to mine in the day.
Fall TV season?
some fun new shows / seasons:
The new Star Trek reboot has some pretty stunning production values, and a predictably diverse cast - and fore me certainly the most brutish yet sympathetic vision of Klingons to date.
Outlander - the continued (mis)adventures of Jamie and Claire, and since the time travel trope is so flexible, let's hope there's more flashbacks of Frank.
Ballers - continues to be a guilty pleasure - Rob and Dwayne are an absolute delight to watch.
