It changes the problem. A rectangle without sides may or may not be better. Big bevels or roundovers are needed to minimize problems at the transition.

the seller is Neo, i think that only 1 singapore distributor. At first inquiry i get price quote of SGD $180, like yours but at the end I got discount, that amount already including shipping cost.

There are many tricks and methods to paint PVC and other plastics. I spent many years in industrial mechanical construction, and the crews had to paint and mark PVC Pipe all the time. This is what we used to do:
1. Lightly wipe clean the PVC with Iso Alcohol, any concentration above 70%, we used 91%.
2. Sand with 150 Grit, clean with alcohol, then sand with 220 Grit to smooth.
3. Clean and prime with Purple PVC Primer/Cleaner, such as Oatey #30796. Larger jobs, feel free to use automotive primer.
4. Apply a light coat of good quality plastic primer, like Rust-Oleum Automotive Plastic Primer. Always read the label of the selected primer to make sure plastic surface is listed (it usually is).
5. For small interior office and warehouse environment jobs we sprayed Rust-Oleum Automotive Paint for Plastic or equal, for larger jobs and open areas/manufacturing areas we used IMRON applied with a gun (after pipe had been sanded, cleaned, and primed). IMRON is very expensive and difficult to work with, if you want a detailed shinny finish.

If you like the sound, enjoy it. Full range speakers have their limitations anyways. The Tao of DIY-loudspeaker construction is that what matters is not the end result, but what you have learned from it. For little money, you can buy a measuring mike and see for yourself what the effect is of enclosure shape on loudspeaker performance.

I'll fix the sound by putting a baffle in front, which will hide the copper pipe look
