Philips AD12202M8 cabinet questions

I prefer the looks with the cover/grill on actually. The looks of the box is graet, love the simple but elegant looks!
I will pick up a pair of philips ad12202m8 today. I'll probably do something similar to your build.
I've been fishing around for a pair of marble speaker boxes that are 80liters, they where quite common n sweden during th 70s and 80s and becouse of their weight i supose never left their homes. So plenty of those around still.

Just picked theese ones up today. Unfortunatly one of them has a rubbing voice coil. Don't know what to do, any idé how to fix it?

Hi Pepe,

Sorry to hear that one driver has a problem. All my troubles started when my amazing pair broke down and had to buy another pair.. I don't know how to fix the coil...

I think the marble boxes are a great thing to have but indeed as mentioned in this thread a bigger box is better...

My amp is Lazycat's First One V1.3 (very nice amp I think) Drawback is that you have to be careful with the volume in this combination.

Both my drivers are fine. There where a thin copper wire piece that some how went through the porous dustcap and where rubbing and making the scratchie noice. Now that it is removed everything is fine.

That is good news... So what you need now is a good cabinet... I am looking forward to your solution..

I don't want to go off topic... but today I fired up my very first DIY project... A Philips AD79710M in a TQWT enclosure (with every beginner mistake possible...).

What I really what to say is that even when mess up with the enclosure....Philips make brilliant speakers.

I off course ment "even when you mess up"... and "made" great speakers... After the 90's it unfortunately went another way...

Should I make a big BR or MLTL for my ad12202m8?
Will probably go for a BR box since I have no clue how to model MLTL and can't find ready made plans made for the ad12202.
I was initially thinking of OB plus subwoofer first but really don't know now.

@xerxes
Did you find the ob's you had befor sounding thin compaired to the BR's you now have?

T/S by Knarfor.

TQWT is interesting.
What box type would be the best performing with this driver or is there not an optimal solution just different routes to the same goal?
