Sunday for a friend I assembled an ncore 400 and smps600 in a Ghent case. The assembly was very straight forward, one missing piece in the case parts and Ghent responded to an email immediately and the missing part is on the way.
Amp worked right away so I gave it to the owner.
He installed it Monday and listened Monday and Tuesday. His initial response was it was "dull". He is letting it "burn in" for the next several days. It appears that he didn't expect such transparent play back... I will go listen next week and then give my "opinion"..

What he's likely describing is the sound of the components in the chain before the amps.
Or the loss of coloration / distortion from the previous amp.

Hopefully while listening (at least passively). In my experience there is no real "burn-in" of the ncores themselves, but definitely a "burn-in" of the ears of the listener, getting used to the neutral sound.
I read somewhere a claim of 1000 hours burn in!?!!?! Probably prefers the slightly muted sound of dried up Capacitors
Best thing to do is just place the amp in an oven at 200C for about 15 minutes when new. Does the same job as 1000 hours the other way.

Yes I agree with this for sure. Same thing happened to me. But then I eventually clued in that my DAC was the actual problem, not the amps. Then when I replaced it, the problem went away.

Oh, if I believed everything I read somewhere...
The capacitors that are most likely to be affected (and as bavmike states, can be artificially aged if needed) are not in the signal path.
Several sources (satellite receiver, DVD, blue Ray) all connected via HDMI to a bryston sp3. Speakers are Wilson duettes(?).

See the attached picture with the inside of the REF600M (from French HiFi magazine) : a clever BC design of a preamp board eliminating connecting cables with input connectors.
Would be interesting to know the reference of the OP Amp used in there : can't some owner open the box and look ?

So it is really the DACs in the sp3 that determine the sound (in addition to the speakers and room, of course).
What is the maximum current a SMPS600 can draw from the mains? In other words: what is the minimum spec for my mains lead, as not to limit the amplifier's capacity? I suppose thicker is always better, but is there a lower cut-off? I'm talking of a 2 - 3 metre cable, should that matter.

Your in-house wiring (and fuse/circuit breaker) are probably provisioned for 10A, I don't see any reason to go for less than that on your mains lead.

Looks like maybe a small improvement over the standard Hypex Buffer, but I highly doubt better than Boggit's buffer with the HxR's and Sparko's.
After many deliberations, investigations and sketches, I finally bit the bullet and ordered Boggit's regular stereo amp with Sparkos last weekend. He was an absolute gentleman and delight to discuss my options with. To say I'm excited would be an understatement.

Well it's interesting that because BRYSTON SP3 is supposed to be an amazing Processor in respect to Audio at around £10K !
I know someone who took his Tag AV32R DualProcessor to shoot it out against the more recent BRYSTON ...it was noticeably better; consider the Tag in Stereo is very similar to an AUDIOLAB MDAC.
On the contrary, I've 'read' recently by someone on another Forum that the nc500 seems to have more energy than nc400 when he compared them in his Passive system... My order is in manufacture process currently (being made with some love thanks to Colin), am quite excited...and nervous all the same
