Please understand old man, you must feed this board AC.
Ciao

I mean after the ac input on the board, at the point after its converted to dc.

But these is not necessary any more. I found out that my transformer works.
On the first amp was no sound output (same interlink cable) at all!

But when I connected the DAC to another amp, and there WAS A SOUND OUTPUT, but it is noisy scratchy noisy.

Any suggestions?

BTW Does anybody know high the current (Ampere) has to be?

Solved

Solved. :wave2:

Checked with the multimeter. The voltage output of an transformer was to low.
Changed it and now I'm enjoy the music :D Very nice open and high resolution :spin:

After burn-in I will post my impression.

Can on this device the volume be regulated?

It's much louder than my other dac's. Too loud for my tube amp.

The pot you use will depend upon your power amplifier's input impedance.
I use an E-bay stepped attenuator 10K.( Dact type SMD resistors)
There may be some loss but I don't know how else to raise and lower volume.
The output of this DAC drives my Sony SA 5000 headphones quite nicely.

What is the function of those dip switches, or filters?

How dose effect the sound? mine boars sounds harsh ...

I asked the guy that sold me mine about those switches he said only "low pass filter".
When I fiddle with them I think I can hear a difference, but there is a very good chance I'm kidding myself, as I haven't a proper way to measure.
With my set up this DAC sounds freaking delightful.

Help!

Bought this in unassembled kit form. Having put it all together I find the small board for the 3 button switches missing

Have asked seller to send the missing part. In the meantime, powering up the DAC with display module connected, there is no display light. Is this normal or is something else amiss. All the ac voltages checked out OK.

For those who own this dac, can I get the DAC to work without the display/controller module? Thanks

There is a display light with module something is wrong ..can you post a pic of your module.

This dac will work without the display module connected .. you cannot switch inputs without connection ... default input is spdif when powered up

To be clear, do you mean the display will light up without connection to the button switch board, connected only to the main DAC board?

Module as shown. In particular, are the two small tantalum caps to the right of the microprocessor in the right place? Everything else seemed straightforward unless some other part was missing from this assembly. I assume the crystal oscillator has no polarity.

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

Default input spdif - would that be optical or coax?

Thanks.

hi,

display will light up without 3 button module and default is spdif coax.
look at my pic ..there is wire/solder connecting the holes in B647 and a led added
