Sorry, but you are not entirely correct there.
The R used in the value indicates a decimal separator as used for example in 1R1Ω to indicate it's 1.1Ω.
Nothing more.

It is also used when you have integer values to clearly specify that there is an Ohm value, like 470R or 1R.
If you think is confusing, I'll remove R. No big deal.

R removed. :)

Regards,
Tibi

As far as I know of, the nR is only used without the Ω?
The US standard just indicates the nRn way. So when I read nRΩ I am expecting a decimal value.
Which for me, as a European, should even be wrong as the IEC standard uses k or M (forgot what it uses for below 1k values) as their decimal separator.

Oh, the joys of standards!

But thank you, it makes this cruel world just slightly more bareable :D

Those serious cables look very familiar...:D

I have got my 4 modifications on the laserhead complete (after ruining 3 lasers on the way to it :D)

Help was at hand from a master in soldering my audiobuddy Peter.

The reward is immense the laser plays in a completely different league now...simply amazing

BTW
Did somebody remove the plastic black laser cap which stays on as a part of the laser...I am NOT referring to the black protection cap but the thin black cap where you see the lens in the middle...
I think you can safely remove that....maybe even better (static electricity?)

Hi Erik

I don't recall reading but are you still using/modding your original JVC board or have you switched to one of Tibi's Shiga MkI or II boards?

Thanks

No I am still using my JVC...but that is only due to the way things are mounted in my situation..it is pretty obvious that TIBI has a better board.
