I would really appreciate if general construction questions are kept on forum thread instead private messaging. This way information is shared to everybody and save my time answering to the same question several times.

TIBI you are really on to something...

Pics will follow

We replaced a standard platform with a lasermodded 47nF Siemens only...this already gave far better stereo image and fullness of voice......

We replaced that board with a 100 nF Vishay which gave more smoothness and ease...

At this moment we slightly prefer the Vishay....

Now we will continue to mod and listen and compare...

Very cool to hear the differences in 1 minute plugging time...

As a remark...we heard the differences in just a few music bars....

Tibi good to report that I have struck gold with your ideas of lasermodification.

I had or rather we had our HOLY SH&T moment with the implementation of the 1 nF (0.8 nF) silver Mica together with the 100 nF Vishay underneath the laser.

This is like implementing a serious clock with serious supply....it really transforms your entire transport to an unknown level !!!!.....but without the 1000 dollar costs.

We were ready to study the nuances in detail had everything prepared for long listening over the week but were in shock when the first cd started....this is the way to go.

I am afraid it is for the happy few...but also the reward for the persistant...

I think you are not far off when you mention turntable level.....

what is the difference between high grade sanyo mech vs the regular mech? they seem to look alike.

Do you really mean not far off of a turntable level ? ? ? ?

Too low dynamic. too much distortion to compare to a deafelt cd
Maybe a compare wiht a very good cd transport will tell you were
you stay.
Believe me, I am very interest in your result and mods.

Got the Mark 2 board ,want to transfer all parts from Mark 1 ,any part list for Mark 1 and Mark 2 .

After 1 month of listening Shiga MK2 my version I can say this :
it outperform all CD transport / CD player I have listen till now .
It is better than Accuphase DP 11 and DP 510, Classe CD player (that one the most expensive can not remember indicative) , Audio Note and some other 3..4 super HI-END transport that I have listen in the last 5..7 years of auditions at home and at showrooms .
And I only speak the true here.
Who want to listen this transport it will be amazed , this the only I can say about .

High grade Sanyo is an original Sanyo SF-P101N-16P while regular is a Sanyo clone. Laser, PIN amplifier, motors and price are different.

Yes, me.

On MKII you have each component value marked on PCB board.
All you need is to solder correct values in correct places.

Also, have a close look on vicol audio : Shigaclone mkII CD transport
to see which part and where to be placed.

The jump is from $$$$ range to $$$$$ range and I'm going to confirm this with few heavyweight players.

Agreed , Mark 2 is supper , Mark 1 can't make it at all, but without Mark 1 ,no Mark 2.
