TPA3116D2 Amp

1) Available space under the bottom side to mount the terminal blocks for speaker and power connections.
Direct wires connections for input L/R signals, S/D, Sync, and Mute pin.
Note: Suggested direct wires connections, as best and minimize the contact resistance!

2) The inductor footprint size is up to 12x12mm with two TH for coils mount.

3) Yes, This board build-with Sync pin for extension boards connection. This is depended on your SMPS output power.

4) Amp Kit is available, The item number is 121294940702

I have to say, the board seems well thought out. Just curious, can the board accomodates the 4 coils without them touching?

X, sweet point to point build :)

Will probably put mine into individual aluminium enclosures at some point... Having them properly grounded to the enclosure should help with the hiss. Plus, without a volume pot the amps output to the speaker is at 100%. I've set my YJ 2.0 blue boards to 20dB gain & should be getting >100dB SPL peak... not surprising I can hear some hiss...

Quickly tried the Master/Slave set-up, this made the turn-off transient [pop] worse on the slave unit, so gone back to running both in master mode.

Thanks! The individual gain settings on your miniSHARC should handle the volume for you as well as balancing the bass vs treble. I just connected mine up with the miniDSP and it works great as dual master running off same supply. No beat noise interference issue. The master volume knob on the minDSP does a good job of common volume and software gain setting inside balanced the bass and treble nicely. Sounds very nice so far - I not pushing it and it is very loud already with a single laptop brick powering both amps. If I need more power I will use dual supplies. I have no issue with hot inductors in the Ybdz board. They are cool to the touch. The chip itself also runs cool. I do get a turn on pop when plugging in though. Not a big deal as I leave on.

Speaking of aluminum cases, I have an old external USB hard drive case that is really sturdy. It has a DC input jack, an on/off switch, a USB jack and I think just enough room to stuff a miniDSP and two of the Ybdz boards inside. Then add 4 pairs of banana jacks and 2 RCA jacks.

I bet lots of people have old USB hard drive cases that can be repurposed

I have Two of the YJ "Blue" boards ( though the boards are actually black, it's the components on the board that are blue ).

I got all my bits and pieces in last week, and kitted one up to see what all the hub bub was about.

I hooked up to my PS One CD player, a universal laptop brick set to 19.5 V ( measured 19.45 V ) then to a pair of the Madisound Recession buster II's that are in a GM designed TL. These are nominal 8 Ohm speakers.

I had no turn on or turn off pop ( the switching duties are provided by a surge protector with multiple outlets, and a power switch.).

No noise at full volume without input at the speakers, No hiss whatsoever.

I did sense a slight reduction in the upper registers from the 8 Ohm load. To be honest my hearing up high is not as good as it once was, so that roll-off could be my hearing. I intend to try a nominal 4 Ohm speaker this weekend to see if I can tell any difference.

Other than my perceived slight reduction in top end ( who knows it could be psychosomatic because it was suggested here....). The amp has good power, very nice crisp sound, slightly warm, with an excellent soundstage.

Overall I am very pleased with the results. This was my first attempt at something like this, and it ran first time, truly "plug n play".

Very nice. I am pretty anxious to hear what the black board has to deliver. If you take into account that a thru-hole amplifier board is something that takes experience to properly design then Danzz did damn good job at the first try and even avoided all the bad things that come along with thru hole components. If it works as you described then yuanjing has finale build something that is world class.
Kudos should go to Danzz.

I have an old IDE HDD enclosure that I just happened to take out today for the same very idea :D:D

Just waiting to choose which version of TPA3116 to put in, preferably with a SUB OUT. Waiting for more to pop up.

Is this a new one?!

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

Looks like it is new, along with this one.

Looks new. I guess KJA needs to update the Cheat Sheet. :)

The link here seems to indicate that PBTL operation is possible.

This board looks decent. The board looks quite compact. Mainly SMD components used apart from the output filters and the PS caps. The heat sink looks quite substantial too. The seller assures that no pop when turn on and off.

In addition, it has a bunch of other features (you may or may not like):
1) the volume pot has a built in on-off switch
2) an on-board LED to indicate power on-off
4) a 5 V 150-200 mA output to support a mini DAC
5) can be converted to PBTL mode
6) a mute pin out is available
7) one can choose a 3.5 mm jack for input or the "typical" 3-pins socket (the
small white plastic thing)
8) same goes with the power input - one can choose the typical terminal block
or the DC jack like the one the YJ red board.

Lastly, the sellers claim to be the original designer of the amp, not just some re-sellers like many of those on EBAy. BTW, they also has a 3118 board too.
I am tempted.

Any ideas if these variants will sell on eBay, how the heck do I order from taobao? Theres no English

Sorry. I do not know. They might be selling it on Aliexpress. You can try search there. Or you can use one of those TB "middle man". There are a few of those around. I forgot their names, may be someone can helps. The price listed in TB is really cheap => ~ $9 Cdn.

Amazing job Danzz

Has anyone noticed the word "world class" and $19 go together as being funny? Very nice.

If this board enables the ability to have those low noise resistors and expensive MKP from caps all around while not having to worry about side effects.;) World class + $ 19,00 = The competition can have a long nap or give a try at the TAS56xx based IC's.
