There is also a 2SJ25, Yamaha - 'complementary' of 2SK75. Quotes because it is complementary in the sense it's a P-ch VFET with the same maximum Vds, Id, Pd and same case, but mu is lower (about 25)

The smaller VFETs are even rarer and more difficult to get than the large ones. They can all be used witgib their spec for small signal amplification, just like small signal triodes - and yes, that certainly includes preamps. In fact, service manuals for both the Yamaha B1 power amp and Yamaha C1 preamp are available on the net, for some examples on what can be done.

Old Vfet Yamaha and Sony amplifiers have aparently be made with small Sit's for preamplification.
This make me dream about complete Sit's signal path all like triode.
:rolleyes::D:wrench:

Have fun

Soundhappy - start your own fab! For example https://www.kickstarter.com/
Well, I am partly joking now, but ...
I understand your dream. An all JFET/VFET/SIT (playback) signal path has never been realized. Until now. We realize it with devices from the 70ties, which means this could have been done 30 - 40 years ago in principle. First time I heard about the Toshiba JFETs was when John Curl used them in the Dennesen JC-80.
Well, I wish you all a nice day!

That would be wrong - Yamaha B1 (unless you have a problem with a few current sources with BJTs). There are also preamps with a complete JFET-based signal path (Kenwood 600 preamp section).
Sony only used a single small SIT in it's pjono section for the two smaller CFET integrated amps, but it was actually not used to it's full advantage - though at the time it was the only device that could be used that way (there were no MOSFETs then).
