hmm, could a BG75 be used vertically below a flat panel for ht? any suggestions?
Yes, the driver can sit vertically. But do consider that the subjective location of the sound source will not be in the center if you sit off-center, it will be right in front of you. It's not a good center channel in that respect.
My EQ is 5800 Hz, -4.5 dB, Q=1.6
But I have added two EQ points above and below which makes the dip a little narrower, so a Q around 2-2.5 should be OK.
The best solution is to measure the whole thing and set the EQ based on that.
StigErik,
Do you equalize the RD75 at the low end for dipole roll off?
Any problem to connect the RD75 directly to the power amplifier speaker outputs.
The amplifier used will be a guitar amplifier Marshall EL34 50W tube power amp.
I have no idea if it has any DC offset but when "power off" the speakers used today these some noise can be heard. Well, under normal circumstances i.e there is nothing wrong with the power amplifer is there anything to be concerned of ?

No problem at all.
Tube amps should have no DC offset, since there is a transformer between the output stage and the speaker, and you really have to have a large DC offset before it creates any problems.
Any Picture of the round foam used instead of baffles. The Pictures have been uploade in some other thread but these are not possible to open.
Still 4cm diam used ?
Thanks
My domain expired, so the pics got off-line. I post them again here.
Approx 4 cm diameter foam tubes.

Which software been used when creating the crossover and EQ ?
CONSOLE for creating the routing between the EQ plugins, and PLparEQ VTS-plugin for both EQ and XO.
I am using a NEO8. The NEO8 resonance frequency is a bit higher than that for the RD75. I find it much more obvious at high volume than the 12KHz peak. It rings like a bell. It can be piercing. I have found that you need a combination of measurement to center the notch, and your ears to gauge the depth. I have found that the problem is worse the higher the volume. At modest volume, you can get away with a few db. At higher volume, the notch has to be deeper (for me). It is most obvious on high strings and sibilance. I also have the NEO8S, which has a lower resonant frequency, closer to the RD75. Aside from the different center frequency, all the above comments apply. The RD75 resonance around 5-6kHz how big is it (dB), and between which frequencies ?
I am using a software for the crossover and can create EQ in the program. Which center frequency to use and gain dB to reduce the resonance ?
As I am new into crossover software could you please explain little more in detail. CONSOLE ? I assume the software used is the ACUDORA "PLPAREQ" ? If so is this software user friendly ? Which MediaPlayer is used ?
I have the ACCURATE today and the MediaPlayer is JRiver and the crossover filters are copied I assume into the JRiver / Convolution something. Well I get exeptional support, however, it is not user friendly so I have to rely on the support. I am therefore also investigating other alternatives.
ACUDORA seams more friendly when looking at their homepage.

Console is MIDI and VST routing software:
console sound modular studio : Host for VST Plugins & DirectX(DX) | How to use | Buying | Useful Information
Yes, it's PLparEQ by Acudora.
The entire package is not exactly user friendly, but it has great flexibility, and sounds fantastic.
I don't use computer playback, I find it way too cumbersome. I prefer to use a hardware medieastreamer. Currently I have a Squeezebox classic.

There's no tweeter, the B&G RD75 goes all the way up.
We will see about this. Want to try to integrate the 50cm/1" Transmission audio ribbon tweeter soon?

Where did you buy the Transmission Audio ribbon tweeter. It may be an option to the RD75.

I got lucky in England. A PA guy crushed his giant setup for a show - magnets attracts! - and then he gave up when he realized they don't do well with wind. I bought what he could salvage, and he lashed the rest. "Learning experience", he called it.
Prepare to spend 20 000 SEK for a pair, if Bo Bengtsson can be arsed to make them. He is quite the rough customer.
The PA guy in England had problems with delivery times, I recall.
I don't see how he could have used them for PA anyway. ~90db 1W? They are so fragile and unsensensitive compared to the TPL-150. I would not want to pump 200W straight into true ribbons.
I bet you can get the same thing from RAAL. The principle behind true ribbons is fairly simple. I think the hard part is to make a good ribbon speaker transformer. RAAL's very sensitive (109dB?) seem exciting, but somehow it feels unnatural to push so high sensitivity from a true ribbon. Not sure how it works at all, though.
I tried with home made graphite resistors to make them transformerless. It was hard to get any significant volume with a 40W solid state amp. Tried 4 ohm, and 1ohm. 4 ohm was like whispering at 40W. 1ohm was speaking volume at 40W. The Dueland resistor that should be the same thing, is said to take only 15W. I wonder how the ribbon reacts to exploding pencil resistors!
My impression with the Transmission Audio drivers are that they sound really good. With resistors instead of transformers even better, but so quiet! They are much more detailed than the TPL-150, which make me want to replace the TPL-150 with them, but alas!, they don't go as low. They sound strained if you go too low, so I would just keep them where they are comfortable. Don't ask me where that is yet, because I am just about to setup the Minidsp 4x10HD for the first time.
In other news - I just soldered myself my very own SPDIF breakout cable for the Lynx L22 to connect to the Minidsp. *busy*
