Lots of trade-offs go into cone vibration control. You gain some and you lose some. The important thing is to gain more than you lose. Not an easy thing to do, and quite often you hit some manufacturing limits. For example, I would like to have control of non-uniform anodizing thickness. If you do it well, the cost goes through the roof.

I see 5 years on, sreten continues his self-serving campaign against enabl and BudP.

rgds, Pano.

The lack of any social skill or relevancy is unbelievable.
You really have to live in a different world not to find it terminally boring.

I fail to see how bringing to light the questionable "results" of Enabl as being self serving:confused: Either BudP can show proof or he can't.So far he hasn't.

Hi,

Yes. Five years on.

The patent is utter garbage, and the only self-serving person I can
see in this affair is BudP. Why should I care ? I can't stand BS.

The level of absolute nonsense in the subjective thread is beyond
the pale, you'd have to be seriously intellectually challenged not
to have serious problems with the sort of claims made there.

Social skills and the like are not relevant, and anyone who thinks
they are is simply incapable of engaging in real a technical debate.

Anyone who thinks personal comments are relevant is wrong.

rgds, sreten.

what do ya do if you have the trifoil on a fe126en and you put the 50/50 mod podge on the cone and the cone warps all to crap..........??????????????

That's a real shame and goes to show the dangers of "mods" to a speaker cone.Too late to fix what happened to your cone.Fostex use really thin cones, it's a wonder they don't warp due to changes in humidity anyways.

I'd like to say that i used the same solution on My super 8 audio nirvanas and cast frame 10 audio nirvanas with perfect results. I guess the fostexs are more sensitive to this treatment . something that might be documented ,what not to do ...... as ugly as they look , they sound great. LOL. thank god they are not the price of lowthers or feastrex................ordered a new pair

I had a similar issue with FE167 (different experiment). The fellow i gave them to massaged them into much better shape... if you email i can hook you up with him, they may be recoverable.

Today's posts probably belong on the techniques thread?

I think this is prudent.

We split the threads to keep the fire and brimstone here, and the useful information for the 'doers' in the other. Those who argue vehemently against the merits of EnABL have mostly respected the intention of the split threads, and the mods have kindly maintained this through appropriate moderation.

Mods, would you consider moving this latest stuff to the other thread?

Cheers,

Alex
