Class D Amp with LM566, LM393 and 2XIRF530

D200 also is not professional and industial product :) just simple class D amp for diy.

lab amps aren't class-d , their amps are based on Tracking Class-D or TD and the final stage is an AB class Amplifier.
Crown also using Micrometals -2 material but they are original core and never gets warm in low output current like you said before. for example T157-2 gets warm about 55 degree @ 10A output current and 150vPP inductor voltage i guess.
Dynacord is new in Class-D , i saw their using torodial core in PM-3 but can't guess the type of material because it's not visible clearly. maybe -2 material. you got a picture from inside ?

what is HONAMIC then !? any picture form inside ?

u absolutely right
in PM-3 they used 4 stage filter back to back, that core induction decrease in each stage and make the output signal clear and linear just like an AB-class amp output
2 of this cores are clear-red micrometal and 2 other (last stages) are regular white core and dark gray.

as u know D200 is amplifire stage of mackie SRM450 active speakers with -/+75volt rail voltage and absolutely is a high power industrial, safe, and good design.:cool:
also its designed base on IRAUDAMP1 from IR reference designed series and its so simple but accurate.
(Honamic is my Brand ;) )

Thanks for pictures , did you repair it ? if you have any other info (like part numbers of fets ,etc) please share with us.
using higher order filters isn't very easy , it should design carefully to obtain a good result.

yes i know everything about D200..the input stage-modulator-level shifter circuit taken from Mackie. the power stage-driver is taken from a russian amp. mile upload both schematic before. also the filter characteristic is like mackie.

Test after mounting heatsink

I reduced the number of turns on the inductor. Now it has 26 turns. I think I made a mistake. According to this: T106-2 It must have 47 turns.

10R/5W resistor heated up too much. I could even smell it. Could hear some noise. FETs also heated up like a class AB amp. Small heatsink is not enough. Are these all because of reducing the turns or something else?

After winding about 45 turns, it gave me a good result. I had to increase the value of 510R to 2K2 to reduce the noises. Now everything is good. I will wind more turns and test it again later then i wouldn't need to increase 510R.

So far I couldn't reduce the heat emission of outputs in each case. May be IRF640 is not good. Unfortunately I can't find IRFB numbers here.

Amp is stable and overall good. What do you suggest me to increase the output power. Bridging 2 of these or increasing the voltage and outputs?

Amp must work good with IRF640N, I suggest bridging 2 of D200 to increase output power.

Amazing respond to new outputs!

I'm so surprised today with IRF540N. No heat at all. Should be due to low Rds (44 mili ohms). Heatsink is at room temperature, full volume under 4 ohms load. Supply +/- 40v. Amazing!:eek: What is the maximum supply voltage with IRF540? Data says it can handle upto 100V.
