North American power supply group buy?

I've been waiting patiently for the power supply group buy, and now I learn that it's been going on in a thread titled "ES9023 / WM8804 S/PDIF DAC Parts GB EU Only" which Inever looked at because I'm not in the EU. Not only is the group buy closed, but I wouldn't have been eligible anyway.

So, if I understand correctly, there is no way for people outside of Europe to get a hold of a PS board unless someone else organizes another group buy. Is this correct?

Hey that is your own fault, it is good here except that we have Euros :) The thought had occurred to me to have it available only for EU people as we deserve it but I changed my mind. Seriously, the GB for parts for EU people is only because getting the parts here is much harder than in the USA with all that fancy distributors like Mouser, Digikey etc. In Europe one can not buy just one resistor of one value.... You will need to order the parts yourself. It was a french member that stepped forward in our risky business and he organised it. You could be that guy for our North American DAC branch. You can get in touch with our secretary.

I am not running the PCB group buy but Subbu is the COO. AFAIK there are PCBs produced and I would not have made the PCB 115 V adaptable too if it would be only for EU people... In fact the delay was mostly because we could not find transformers of the same type but with either 115 V or 230 V primaries. This was only solved recently. They exist on paper but getting them in your hands is another matter.

Now I know Subbu has some telepathic gift.... so he must be getting this message through right now. Subbu please don't let down your fellow countrymen :D

Just got a PM from member BarackO that the US won't tolerate discrimination of any kind against its valued audiophile minority otherwise "appropriate MP3 measures" will follow...

Immediately got in touch with our COO and we are thinking of a solution. Some difficult steps will have to be taken. Sorry for the inconvenience, have a nice day.

Always takes me 4 to order the parts. It is the one thing I loathe about audio. Actually have the parts sitting in a checkout cart right now. Trying to throw some other things in, waiting on a couple schematics. I get tired of ordering every week. Just do the bundle thing.

When you are 70 and start soldering you won't be able to hear the quality of the projects. But I know your point, many parts here and still waiting for some that I need. If I wouldn't have built up such a stock i would be listening to quite a good audio set without all the lost hours now.

That's a promise. You better start drilling the holes in the case right now. Will save you time. Just think of any excuse to make it happen. Do it for yourself, your wife/girlfriend, your children, your neighbor or your dog. Oh they all listen to iPods....

Buzzforb, think of us. We will be proud of you. And the girls in the street will whistle at you while you are twice their age. The elderly will whisper to each other that you are the guy that finished that project. Not to mention your colleagues at work that will burst of envy. Their wives telling their husbands that Buzzforb is a guy that achieved something in life. That they regret their choice and if they could turn back time they would have dated YOU Buzzforb...And we Buzzforb .. we will know that our Buzzforb, our valuable Buzzforb is the diyaudio member that made a quality product while we were chatting. Yes while we were talking so doing nothing on a forum Buzzforb made a DAC. A good DAC too, an excellent DAC even. A DAC we all would like to have. The DAC of a winner.

Oh my shrink is calling me. Have to go now.

Fellow members let's not disturb member Buzzforb. He is into a project. A project we all know we could not cope with. Work, wife, children, bills, the garden needs mowing, the dog is puking etc. you know all the excuses that make us the silent majority that never finishes projects. That while the wife starts finding parts falling out of your overfilled drawers and you are "busy" ordering more and more....

No PM to Buzzforb please. The guy is struggling but he will leave the DAC arena bruised but not battered. Let us support him morally. Hooray for Buzzforb !

I don't mean to be difficult or unpleasant - though sometimes I can't help it. I don't agree that it's my fault for not looking on a thread titled "ES9023 / WM8804 S/PDIF DAC Parts GB EU Only" for a power supply board in the US. And if I had, I couldn't have gotten in on it anyway.

Anyway, I'm glad Subbu will do a group buy which I can get in on. And if he isn't, I'll volunteer. I've ran a group buy before.

As far as finished boards: I finished one of my two. I noticed Jean-paul wrote that it can be built in about 1 hour. It took me 4 evenings listening to at least 2 CD's each evening. I think I'm just slow. The Elliott Sound Products manuals always say "The project can be completed by an experienced hobbyist in about 1 hour." I'm an experienced hobbyist, and I've never finished one of his boards in less than 4 hours.:snail:

Now, if I only had a power supply . . .

Thank goodness. I was already buckling under the pressure. Use simple regulator like 7812 series to start with. Maybe Salas shunt regulator. Ill race you and dont even have the parts. Got to now the JP is making fun. Gotta show up the easterners, even if they did design it.:)
