2000m or 200m?

inverting (which I call hot pin 2) to ground reads 0.028, non inverting (I call cold pin 3) read 0.002 to ground

Pin 2, inverting, is the "cold" one, and pin 1, non-inverting is "hot" (on the hypex connector). But yes, on the XLR, pin 2 should be "hot" and pin 3 "cold". So both of those voltages are DC, and neither changes when you turn the potentiometers? Is there a DC voltage between "hot" and "cold", and does that change when you turn the potentiometers?

Correct neither changes when adjusting potentiometers.

Just checked 0.025VDC across hot/cold, no change when adjusting pots.

Damn gotta run to work now! Thanks a million for all your help Julf, it is very much appreciated.

Post up if you can think of anything else and i'll check back in later tonight. Thanks again!

No I use multimeter . I have a scoop but can not use it .

Another guy who is interested in this amps will borrow them for the easter. I hope his main voltage is a bit lower than by my place.

How do you know then that the maximum output voltage is not exceding the maximum allowed input voltage of the NCore because you are measuring the average voltage output with a multimeter?

Well I doubt the court will be in line with you. Not anywhere in the brochure it is mentioned it only works with SMPS.

I guess I just don't understand why one would sway away from what Bruno has designed. If you have bought into him doing the proper thing with the NC400 then why sway from the SMPS? At least try the SMPS first then try the linear if you feel you need it. From my listening I can't imagine it being better with a linear though. It's really good....

Maybe not this one but otherwise when hearing things with SMPS it was really bad . Why should this be so much different ?
