Thank you for your good work on the 26 preamp. Recently I lashed up your circuit loading the 26 with 2 of the Hammond 150H chokes in series. It sounded excellent. Soon the 24bit/192Khz DacMini will have the 26 on its output.

In HIFI I've done triode strapped EL84 and 6V6GT, 1626 triode, 6C45 and the 71A.
In my books the 71A wins with a great margin. The 1626 is a cheap and easy to work with triode to get started, and it'll always have a special place in my mind, but DHT is the way to go. 6C45 is a good output tube as well, but just not to my taste. Triode strapped EL84 and 6V6 are ok to good, but nothing special.
