It means your amp is class G not class H, as par as I know class h is higher efficiency than class G, The advantage of Class G is good sonic than class H, because class H can create much distortion.

rlg

It is H because it has Square step HI LO binary waveform not a linear envelope follower like in G.

Class-H will only have higher efficiency when the rails step are more than class-G amp, provided the power output of amplifiers are same.

And the idea is "dissipation of a 50 watt amp with output of a 500 watt amp" no ?

Btw that is one huge diameter donut right there!!

Is that chassi a stripped down commercial pa amp ?

Class-H and G if 2 step have identical dissipation and which is half of the Class-AB amp of same power.. the chassis is not of any strip down pa amp, its my own chassis and first class-H prototype i made some 5 years back.

I am jonesing to get this PCB from you and any other info on power supply or other protection we also need. Im stoked on your design, and would really like to use it to demo our speakers.... Hit me back and let me know if the PCB is made, I should make it in the US... and some details about the power supply would be great too. I dunno if that toroid is custom or found, or "in stock", but I know I have a lot of parts to gather ASAP.

Thanks ...

You need 2500VA transformer with following winding specs: 85-50-15-0-15-50-85 14A secondary.

This amplifier is has all set of protection like DC Fault, Muting, Shrotcircuit etc.
