900W H-class PA Amp with Limiter

The class H (?) crown- a little off subject

Just got the crown XS1200 working and have removed by skew the rail jerk circuit out and tested the straight amp. Note:It has blown up 3 times in warranty. Anyway, I see it pretty well drives 4 ohms but when loaded to 2 ohms it got funny and showed signs of instability. So if the rail is jerked up to double the voltage as it is in the crown it gets funny driving 4 ohms which explains why this hunk-o-junk amp has blown so many times. I left the rail jerking circuits out and now it is a decent 200 watt at 8 ohm amp that is reliable instead of a 600 watt amp that blows up all the time.

You all be the judge- which amp would you want?

hi apexaudio
greetings can opa 2134 be used in place of ne5532

Any unity-gain-stable op amp can be used in that topology. The amps I build are similar on the fornt end and I've used a variety of op amps - even the 1458. (I know, YUCK, but it was only a 50W amp).
My favorites are the varieties of the LF353. The LF412 (low offset version) and the OPA2604 (all-around improved version from BB/TI). I just *like* the sound of the distortion spectrum you get with those Bi-FETs.
