LMAO! Any idea how this works?

There would also be no heat (infra-red is part of the electromagnetic spectrum)

This would be a life-saver in the event of nuclear war - if gamma radiation hit, switch that little thing on and relax in a pitch black, freezing, environment, where your mobile phone wouldn't work either.

The big problem with switching it on is the absence of a switch or power cord.

Lee Valley Tools in Ottawa sells Rare earth magnets. They look like the little dots on the box in question. Rare earth magnets = Rare magnetic fields. The earth's magnetic field protects all life on earth from deadly solar radiation. It stands to reason that rare earth magnetic fields protect the wires and electronics from stray dirty electrical fields near our precious components. Since we no longer have dirty interfering electric fields we have beautiful pure sound. Simple isn't it. I'm going to Lee Valley Tools and buy a few dozen magnets. I'll start a group buy and make a fortune.

You must be kidding.

There's a few flaws to that argument.
The first is that the Earth's magnetic field has no effect on waves comming in from the sun - magnets only affect particles, not waves. Following this, it is shown that the Earth's atmosphere is what shields us from the nasty radiation.
The second is that a magnetic field is a magnetic field. No such thing as a rare one.

At least now we know where to buy magnets...

cmon guys get with the program...
The gear emits photons and the Blackbody is the eyeball which forever observes these occurrences, changing the nature of them from radiation with spectral content resembling music signals to radiation without spectral content, resembling cosmic blackbody radiation.

The device is "watching" so what is happening is obviously an observer effect... ie the fact that the device is watching the equipment is altering it's behavior :devilr: I'm not sure where the girl in the solarium fits in but it sure seems to add some weight to the argument :joker:

Tony.

I'm glad someone knows I was kidding. I am about to do some serious research after a few more rum and eggnogs. I may not be able to post my results as my memory is extremely good but dynamic. When I wake up from the inevitable hangover I will have forgotten everything as aspirin stops the refresh cycle

To me it sounds like your moniker should be 'out of sync'!:D

Peace,

Dave

Tony.

I wouldn't spend too much on equipment that turn exhibisionist.
