Loudspeakerfreaks - And Other Poor Vendors

BAD VENDOR:

We all know the tale:

We see an item we want to buy for a good price.
They say they it's in stock and they will ship it.
We pay for it with credit card or paypal or similar.
It never shows up or we have to send nasty grahams.

What do we have to do?

Write emails to the vendor. Save copies you will need them.
Copy or scan the invoices that you made payment with.
Document anticipated delivery from the web site or vendor.
Document any changes in the date.
Document any emails or letters received.
Keep a simple log of this in paper form or on computer.
Take pics of it when needed.

Visit the vendor web site and screen capture it:
for example loudspeakerfreaks printed on the site
the same drivers that I had purchased were in stock
and would take 2 - 3 days to be delivered.

But my order status told me that the drivers I purchased
would take another week or two on back order?
Yes, that was after I waited more than a month
and had not received anything. Screen print is your friend.
If you have to create a new account to find them out
then do that.

The above are all the things you need to send to your credit card
company or PayPal to make a proper claim and prevail.

We need documentation and evidence.

Contact the Credit Card company or PayPal and open up a claim.
We all need to submit the documents, copies, emails and results,
lack of results etc for our claim.

When I called my CC company the first time, they recommended
that I wait another week to file my claim because it if arrived then,
or if I received only a partial shipment it would be more difficult
to sort through the paper work.

Be percistent and polite - even if you don't feel like it.

Prevail. I have never lost a claim.

EBAY SCAM

Wonder why PayPal and eBay changed their selling policy so that
we get reimbursed for shipping?

This scam happened to me:
I bought what I thought was a good deal on an electronic
piece, a TEK mainframe P/S and three plug in units.

They claimed they all worked and had pics showing them
working. Good for me.

It Arrived, the mainframe powered up but the plug in units didn't work.
Some just plain broke when I turned the dials. When I sent the
vendor an email they informed me that they were sorry for the
mix up. I could keep the plug in units and ship back the mainframe.

What am I going to do with a bunch of broken plug in units?

Ahhh

I then realized where they made their money, do you?

ON shipping!

Sure you could sell $100 USD of stuff add $30 or $40 USD
for shipping. Even if you got it back the broken thing
you'd keep the shipping charges....then relist the item
and do it again.

In my case, when they said they would reimburse for
my shipping...well most of the weight was in the slide
in units. The main frame was light. So maybe they
would save $20 in return shipping cost and would
profit $20 on shipping.

Thoughts here.

If you know of other scams please list them here.

Help the fight against Oxen Scheisse.

Cheers,

Sync

PS - The DIY Vendors have been good.
