I want to build a hybrid amplifier and I have found two versions that I am interested in. I hope this is the right section to ask since the power stage is solid state.
One schematic is called gainclone and I am certain that most of you have seen it. The other one I had on my disk drive and I can't remember where I got it but it probably is as commonly found as the gainclone.
Anyway I don't have alot experience with tubes. But buth configurations seem to me as they are configured as cathode followers but wired a bit differently.
I would like to ask you what is the difference between these configurations and if anyone built both amps and knows which one is better sounding?
