What is the reason for deliberately choosing an inappropriate device? As far as I can tell, the Nutube is intended to:
1. be a gimmick
2. add some distortion
3. keep the VFD production lines going long after everyone stopped used VFDs
None of these are good reasons to use it in a phono preamp.

It's also - based on the thread over at the Pass Form - very microphonic - even at line-level. Not something I would want in a high-gain situation.
I can vouch for that one. Even with it damped properly, mine will ring for some time from the mechanical impulse of the input select switch being operated.
