I think I'm getting closer!
The input pot still would be best located in front of the driver tube, instead of on one side.
A good order of wiring is:
Hot; Fuse; Switch; Primary; Primary; Neutral
I use 2 Fuses in series.
Example: 2 Amp Fast Blow, in series with 1 Amp Slow Blow
The amperage of the Fast Blow is determined based on the Inrush current at cold turn on, and also the inrush current with the amp hot, and switched off and on (Hot start). Flickering power can cause a Hot start inrush.
The amperage of the Slow Blow is determined based on the steady running current of the warmed up amplifier.
