RCA Receiving Tube Manual

Hi -

I found the old goldmine of information on tubes, tube circuits etc. the "RCA Receiving Tube Manual" in a pdf version, but it was just a graphic scan of it. I OCR'ed it so that is can be searched. This version can be downloaded from http://www.hjkm.dk/tubes/RC30_Tube_manual.pdf - if anybody is interested.

The OCR is not perfect - but mostly it works. It is a fairly big file (about 120 MB)!

I do hope there are no copyright problems with it - so please notify me and it'll be gone before you can count to 1.

Merry Xmas

I was wondering.... why would I "search" RC-30 when the best part is flipping through and discovering things I never thought to think about?

However your OCR does have one VERY useful benefit: we can copy/paste the text out for other uses. In typical PDF style, the line-breaks have to be fixed by hand (or editor macro). But the little bit I tried, the OCR recognition was great. I don't see ANY typos in this passage:
Code:
Hence, to obtain a large value of load
resistance, it is necessary to use a plate
resistor and a grid resistor of large
resistance. However, the plate resistor
should not be too large because the
flow of plate current through the plate
resistor produces a voltage drop which
reduces the plate voltage applied to the
tube. If the plate resistor is too large,
this drop will be too large, the plate
voltage on the tube will be too small,
and the voltage output of the tube will
be too small.
