Sub 6n6p for 6n1p?

I got the lampizator (SRPP) set up working as the output module for the buffalo ii dac using 6n1p tubes. Sounds really good. However, when I plug in 6n6p tubes, I got very weak output and distortion. I am using the dac in the Iout mode. And on Lampizator's page, he mentions that 6n6p is used for Vout and not Iout. Can somebody elaborate on why that is? Is there a way for me to get the SRPP circuit working using 6n6p for Iout?

Thanks.

Depends on where you have the 6N1P biased. If it is in the 1-5mA region that is why.

The 6n6P is biased way down in the scrunched together curve region which results in high second harmonic distortion and a veiled sound.

Up the bias. You need near 10mA to get the 6N6P to sound good with low distortion.
