Lest I forget.....

Hi Saurav;

Lest I forget, the "official" RCA maximum specs for the 2A3 have 250VDC on the plate with respect to the cathode, and 15watts plate dissipation. I've read that Sovtek officially hews to these specs for the valve, although it's plate is supposed to be identical to the ones used in higher rated valves. For longer life, you can run 'em cooler - so if the economics of this are a really big concern, you may well want to run 'em at the RCA spec or even a little less to prolong the operating life of your 2A3's.

FWIW I'm running mine hot, but if they should prove to have 'suboptimal' lifespan at this Vp and plate dissipation I'll certainly back off.

All the best,
Morse
