I am using the big edcors xpwr035 and cxse 25-8-5k and there 10 henry choke cxc125-10h-200ma. I get a little lost in the tube chart I think my load impedance is 5k but onsure of my primary voltage. I also get lost on some of the abbreviations. I have read some of the swithable resistor posts and would like to try them

You have the exact same config as mine. You need help selecting the cathode resistors? What tubes do you want to use?

I'll be ordering the same Edcor transformers - xpwr035, cxse 25-8-5k outputs
and the 10 henry choke cxc125-10h-200ma.

I'll start out with a basic triode setup using EL34 tubes and a single bias
resistor then later on I'l add other options such as UL/Triode and selectable
bias resistance.

Should I go with the 560ohm resistor in the basic setup with EL34 tubes or
use a higher resistance ?

When I want to go with selectable bias using a rotary switch what resistor
values should I get ? The tubes I'll be using EH KT88, Tung Sol reissue
6L6G, reissue Gold Lion KT66 and nos 6V6G.

spend,

EDCOR - XPWR035-120

To high a B+ with that PS trans for a 6V6 I believe!

Simple SE board

Quote from George from this thread: "My second SimpleSE has an Allied 6K56VG power transformer. The B+ is 320 volts. 6V6's live here."

Maybe add that small trans. with a switch!

Have fun!

Randy

Thanks Randy. It just shows my ignorance of these details, so I'll just not
use 6v6 tubes in the SSE. I have a 6v6 push-pull amp and was thinking I
could use some of my spares in the SSE.

I've posted the spreadsheet that I used to come up with the values on my website. Here is a direct link:
