Hello Everyone,
I'm l@@king to buy a PA-7 Power Transformer. Anyone have an amp they are willing to part out or have an amp not worth fixing for sale???????

Blown thermo fuse in the transformer?

Select one of these. Check the dimensions first and use the secondaries to power both sides.
The usual cause of thermal fuse failure is poor mains connection, sparking at a socket etc.

Nope - I thought the rail voltages should read +/- 60VDC but they are closer to + /- 75VDC each.. thought it may have been a short in the primary but it seems that the rail voltages are higher actually than what’s in the schematics
Yeah, that is probably a cut n paste error in the manual.
The PA-5 should have about +/-60V.
The PA-7 should be around +/-80V
My PA-7E has roughly +/- 84V.
(a unit made for 220V~ but is getting feed with 235V~)
definitely a bad typo ( and says same 60v on the circuit board as well! I actually ended up searching for a replacement everywhere and have a toroidal on order from parts-xpress before I found out the anomaly!
Don’t know if the rest of the schematic is good for replacing any caps by referencing values - does anyone know of a reliable service manual / schematic ?
