Hi,
the sectioning of a spider is nothing new. It has been done with old FR-drivers and different spider materials. Interesting and possibly new are the magnet cutouts that allow for the ´pass-through-technique´... very smart indeed, if You want to reduce driver height and ease manufacture

I have done the same with some drivers I converted to PR's to "loosen" the suspension a bit and get a bit more travel and since there was no worry about getting dust in the coil...
Not sure it was the right thing to do but I had had a couple 'o' beers by then and the thought just hit me like..well..a couple of beers does. Sure loosened them up allright
