Hi I just bought this VELODYNE CT SERIES AMP and cut open my passive JBL SB2 to install and have a wiring question. The SB2 sub has 2 sets of wires inside - one set is red/red-black stripe and on the other side there's a blue/blue-black stripe. The CT AMP has only one set of wires - one red and one black wire.

Which 2 wires should I connect to red and black wires of the CT?

Looking at the back of SB2 it seems like the 2 red wire set is going from the sub to the input and the blue wires are for satellites or output.

I don't want to blow anything up so asking you audiophiles out there.

Here's a link to the Velodyne I bought (outside pic):

Many thanks for your help.

I just did some research so really replying to my own post! Apparently these 2 sets of terminals indicate it's a Dual Voice Coil speaker and the SB2 has a load of 8 ohms if using one of the terminal sets. If I connect in Series it doubles the impedance to 16 ohm and if wired in parallel it cuts the impedance in half. Correct?

Since the CT series can run 4-8 ohm comfortably, I am goign to wire in parallel which to me seems as follows:

Join both the (+) terminals (red wire from one coil and blue wire on 2nd coil on the speaker) to make one single + terminal which connects to the red (+) wire on the Velodyne.

On the other side, connect the red/black and blue/black (both (-) together and connect to the black (-) wire of the Velodyne.

Here's where I got my info from:

I think this should get me a 4ohm load since the sub is rated at 8 ohms.

Am I on the right track? anyone?

Thanks a million.
