Hi All
I would like to know what are the downside of using LDR/limiter at the input of power amplifiers. The reason i want to know is,i use ss/mosfet power amplifiers with a tube preamplifier and don't want the nasty ss/overdrive.
ps are there all-tube limiter for morewarm sound or does it matter with a limiter....(iam no Amplifier GURU..here)

I assume you are using this as a guitar rig.
An LDR limiter circuit will be distortionless and keep the amplifier from clipping at all.
Distortion-less peak limiting sounds a bit 'gutless', so you will want to get all your 'tone' from your tube preamp (compression, overdrive, etc).
