I have these LINN power supply's and a diy subwoofer project that needs amplification, I have looked at this thread and realized I really dont know what to do. https://www.diyaudio.com/forums/cla...1200-watts-using-2-mosfets-270.html:confused:

is it possable to use them for amp and what power can I expect?
Each power supply is 2 channel separately powered and separately supplied to the LINN LK280, I think.

Is it possable to build a two channel amp using the two transformers and bridging them to mono?

Late reply.

No real reason at all why these can't be used as 55-0-55 supplies for a-n-other type amp circuit that can take the voltage. When used with the matching LK280, the 280 transformer was removed and a cover plate fitted to the holes exposed at the back with the relevant socketry and internal supply cabling to the boards. I'd never heard of 'double rectification' as a 280/SPARK has, but in this case and with a later production grain-free LK280 (I don't remember the early 280's being so nice sounding), the results are 'quietly powerful' and rather addictive.

Loads of kit power amps out there which I'm sure can be used with these supplies, which as seen, are totally dual mono supplies just sharing a case per pair. As for bridging, I feel it can be a bodge with many domestic speakers now dipping to 4 ohms or so these days. Others here will explain far better how bridging works, but to be honest, power can be so cheap now I'm not sure bridging is necessary domestically at least with modern high output transistors and circuit techniques as it's probably cheaper and better to up-spec the amp circuit for more power.

Hope the above helps and doesn't hinder...
