I have just joined the forum and I realise this is a pretty old thread and also that nobody has replied since you took the time to post your results so far (as of 2015).
I have this same Nikko TRM 750 and am interested in how your story ended?
I don't personally have the knowledge/experience in electronics & soldering etc to tackle this kind of recap but would greatly appreciate technical data that I could pass on to my local expert to carry out the work if you kept records (& felt that the project was worthwhile).
Also how did you get on with the volume control issue?....at the moment mine cuts out one channel at low volumes and comes back either when music gets louder or when I turn it up/waggle it a bit.
