Hi all
I have a Denon AVR-4306 receiver that recently experienced a shutdown problem. After various troubleshooting the connections, speakers.. I narrow down the problem to the thermal shutdown. For some reason, even with no speaker attached and volume at minimum, the receiver heatsink would become very hot to touch and the receiver would shut itself down after 45 minutes. If I put a fan blowing air directy to the heatsink, then it will not shutdown. I am a novice diy, I can use the solder gun, DVM, read components value, and do some basic troubleshoot. Does anyone have any idea where should I start? I think the problem is probably with one of the 7-channel amps. But how do I attack it?
Any opinion is greatly appreciated
