PCB to Schematic sw

Hi there, many years ago, in the company I did maintenance, etc, we had a peculiar problem. A previous generation of telecom equipment had to be rebuild in small quantities but all documents were scrapped.
We used a piece of sw to draw over the scanned pcb's to generate a schematic. The result was entered in a modern package and hence a more economic pcb.
If my memory is correct, it was called CSIeda.
Are there equivalent packages that can transform a PCB scan to schematic but without breaking the bank?
Thanks very much.

After many years, I could contact a colleague, retired also, that worked on the same project as me. It was in the late 90's and double sided pcb's did not pose a problem.
Allthough we had to redraw some parts, most where available in the librarie accompagning the sw.
We are pretty sure it's been Csieda, but not 100%.
How did we proceed?
We scanned the pcb.
We Placed the components from the sw library.
We connected all traces (both sides)
We run the sw.
Voila, a rude schematic whas the result.
Cleaning up and checking for errors.
Create a new pcb.
Done.
But, a very expensive piece of sw.

So, it seems that there is no such sw available for a modest price.
