I've been wondering a long time: those 3" drivers in the highly-acclaimed Logitech Z-series multimedia satellites (Z-680, Z2200, and discontinued Z-560) look suspiciously like Tangband units. They have a slight midrange forwardness typical of some TB's. (And I am sure Logitech didn't use notch filters!)

BTW I plan on making my own computer speaker set using the TB 871's and try to beat the Logitechs (in performance if not price). If anyone has ideas, please feel free to post.
my first DIY speaker was just completed (i've done subs before, but new to high freq 😀 ). i made a pair of 871s. using them as pc speakers for the moment (and actually running them off the front channels of a cabridge soundworks fps1600 speaker system). these speakers sound unbelievable. i've been listening to as much different music as possible in the last 2-3 hrs and i'm loving every bit of it. i used the taller box design found on John's Audio (tons of links to his page on this board, http://home.new.rr.com/zaph/audio/audio-speaker11.html ). you will want to team them up with a sub of some sort, but beyond that, they're beautiful. cant wait to make a tower or two with 4 871s in each 🙂

TB makes speakers for a lot of companys LT just one.
Models made for those companys alone.With special frames , depth ect.
When you all can pony up for a order like a custom driver from TB you will need to place a order for a minium of 1000 piece.
TB will not even look at any order below that.
As well I know first hand LT orders 10,000 plus pieces a month.
So TB will make special drivers for them at any time.
Lets get a design going and go for a group buy.
Will not take a lot to get to 1000 piece min will it.

I know this question is impossible to accurately answer, but what would you guess the price for a speaker with similar spec to the W-871 (just as a reference point, not that exact model) cost for a custom order of 1000. Nothing concrete, but a +/-$5 ballpark just to know if I would be allowed to be interested!
