Ok guys I am looking for some input on my next sub project.

I will be building a new sub for my sister and her husband to go in their new house. I wanted a high SAF approval, which in this case would be Sister Approval Factor which is rather new to me as I am a single guy and the current sub I have is rather a monstrosity.

Over the holidays I was visiting with family, and my father is a woodworking hobbyist, so I was perusing the things he made around the house and thought a Pie Safe he had made would be an excellent basis for the design. Thus is born the Pie-SAF Sub.

I borrowed a freinds computer that has Solidworks on it to do some initial design implementation and here is what I have come up with so far. (Image included)

What I am looking for is comments, or suggestions on the overall design. It will be loaded with a 12" driver, probably either the Dayton DVC or RS HF 12" in roughly 3 - 3.5 ft^3.

The box in the design measures roughly 18" Wide by 15" deep by 30" tall.

A similar project is on my "To-Do" list. Right now I have a huge box with dual 10" subs that are looked upon very favorably.

I plan on getting some coffee table legs from a furniture parts distributor to make it look more professional, I will be adding a drawer front a cabinet door to the front to make it look like a real coffee table.

Have you looked into the NHT 1259 Sub? If I recall, if has an F3 below 30 Hz with a small sealed enclosure.
