So, finally, I've put my GC all together, made all checkings and double checkings and plugged it in.. TADAAAAAA... Its dead quiet, YAAAY, bass is strog just like it should be, mids too, but, of course there has to be but, high is too bright for my taste...And I can turn pot only halfway, after that sound becomes too distorted...
So, HEEELP please....
Here's schematics, and PSU is Carlos regulated-snubberized...

sorry, heres schematics

I recommend you to use a lower gain.
Change the feedback resistor for 390k, the 20k resistor for 10k and the 25k pot for 10k.
Also, change the 1M+100nf from NI to ground by a 10k resistor (no cap).

Don't use much more gain than around 30x.
The chip sounds better at lower gains.
If you need more, use a gainstage (preamp).

Hi,

Since you 're using an inverting configuration, I highly recommend that you use a buffer. If you find a that a tube buffer is too much hassle, than you can use a discrete (transistor) buffer. I 've seen it somewhere, probably someone can point exactly where it was.

It sounds better.

Vix
