The world turned upside down
So, my new Mouser catalog arrived today. Man, that baby has really bulked up in the past couple of years. Leafing through and I see... OUTPUT TRANSFORMERS. I can't remember seeing those in a mainstream electronics catalog for at least 25 years (I'll find that old Lafayette catalog one of these days).

The prices look pretty good, too. Hammond iron.

What's next, Digikey stocking tubes?

Why not?

This is rather common practice with some major distributors in Europe for many years.

IIRC Velleman were one of the first to offer tube kits and spare tubes.
Others followed albeit it with a limited range of types.

The more the merrier if you'd ask me.

Perhaps well see Sovtek 300 B's at Radio Shack?

In Australia and New Zealand there is a large electronics chain similar to RS that sells valves... They have EL34, 6550 and 12AX7 according to their website link

So maybe its not too far off :P

The world the right way round!
If Digikey has any savy, they would have a database with all the searches done on their website. So if we can start a campaign where bottleheads go and search for their favourite should not take long before they start stocking tubes!!

Bottleheads and Tubefreaks UNITE!

It has happened, the world has turned upsidedown
MCM Electronis and Parts Express both carry tubes and a whole lot more, In fact MCM carries speakers and a welth of semiconductors.

Whoever said tubes are dead was dead wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Radio Shack still sells tubes. I have not bought form them, but have loked through the catalog. Prices aren't that good, for what is likely would be cool to order some 6CA7's and get old Lifetime labeled GE's:bigeyes:

I remember looking through their catalog a few years ago and noticed 6EU7 for $40.. .. wish I could sell to them.. lol!
