Hello, i want to buy i Power Supply for my Car Audio Repair. Found that Laboratory Power Supply on Ebay. The owner said, its damaged. Its not switching on at all, so he think its a problem from the Mains section. Anybody have expirience with repair of this supply? Could there be any parts inside, wich makes the repair impossible?
I have good expirience in repair of car amps, and some smps. Oscilloscope and other tester i have.
Regards
Achim

20 amp output? at up to 60v
That suggests the internals could have some form of SMPS (so very complex). The weight of the product also suggests it could be SMPS based. A linear supply would weigh much more than the 4kg (6kg for dual) in the datasheet. Also there would need to be massive heatsinking if it were linear rather than SMPS.
