I use a 12V SMPS. I run heaters in series for 12V, and run a boost converter to get 280V. It's silent, and you can run it from a battery if you like. It's also smaller, more efficient, and cheaper.

Please look at the picture - will it work?
500uF/350V will probably be too much inrush, the 12V supply might not start into the load. I would suggest an RC filter of 500R/100uF or so.
listened for a long time - my conclusions
1- first impression is good
2- high frequency noise is heard in the headphones
3 - some sort of squeak or whistle is present (high frequencies)
need to find a solution to the struggle
take action - make a good filter
All these problems if connected to the city network
i don't have oscilloscope --- i can't see
