In fig. 2 of this pdf an arrow is missing for Q5 (npn). This must be the only error in a Walt Jung article ever ..

I'd blame the magazine's draftsperson. It's not an easy job, and does not always get the best workers.

The intent is clear. "Q5" is inside a CA3018 chip, and the pin numbers make it clear, even though some are not noted.
