I tried HiFiBerry Amp2. The sound was so good, so i tried to make the best of it.
I had some big caps from older projects, so i added the capacitors (2x10.000 Panasonic + 0,1 mkp, 4x 1000 Black Gate) for the 24V rail. The powers supply is one old notebook switched ps 24V/3,75A.
I added separated 5V power supply (official Pi ps) with extra 3x4700/6.3V + 0,1mkp for Pi 3 and power supply is going directly to pins 2 and 6 on the underside of the Pi pcb. You have to bend pins 2 and 4 (picture) to make it possible, because in the normal configuration Pi is getting power from Amp2.
As a player software i am using piCoreplayer with tweaks from @soundcheck
How does it sounds ? Phantastic. It is just not possible, that this small setup is making so great sound with speakers like Yamaha NS 1000, Yamaha FX 3 (!!!) and ATC SC 11.
The next step will be ifi ps for Pi and maybe a big linear ps for amp2.
