Moode Audio Player for Raspberry Pi

Hi Guys!

I wonder, that it's not possible to resample more than 24bit/192khz with the Soekris 1021 DAM in i2s-configuration. I'm interested in upsampling to 24bit/384khz in order to bypass some of the given filters stored in the fpga of the soekris board.
Is there a known reason for the resampling-limitation in that case? I tried it with Moode and Archphile- the behaviour shows in both distros.

Thanx and greetingz, Robert

If that was the case, you wouldn't be asking for a fix, would you?

Thank you for your participation in my problem. The essence of the problem is in the driver. In Linux Mint 18.2, everything works fine, all the frequencies are switched automatically. The manufacturer of this card, nothing new will do to solve this problem. In order to solve the problem with the driver, you probably need this sound card from the developer. Thinking it will be easier to change the sound card. Anyway , thanks to everyone for participating in my problem.

Hi Robert, what driver are you setting?

The Soekris site states:

Coax and Toslink, Up to 24 bit / 192 Khz
Input I2S PCM Fully Isolated, Up to 24 bit / 384 Khz

So if you have the right driver, it should work. But, I do t think there is a native driver and you need to use the hifiberry/generic one, which probably means you will never achieve full range, unless Soekris create a compatible driver.

The 1021 is a weird beast :)

Thanks Zootalaws!

I was afraid of the fact, that it would be a driver-related problem knowing that Sören Kristensen probably never will find time and interest to offer a suitable one.

Have tried other than the recommended for 1021dam in Moode- some of them work- but not better than the default rpi-driver.

Greetingz

Hi!
New to Moode, just set it up in my Raspi 2B and test track was ok through USB DAC. Now I have a 32GB USB 3 thumb drive with some albums (about 100 tracks) but library update never ends. I've rebooted the system but library was empty.
How long does it take to scan a USB drive? Any suggestion for troubleshooting?

PS: by the way, I found pretty difficult to search through the single thread. Is there any chance diyaudio allowed a full subforum?

It takes a few seconds to scan my 8gig usb stick. However it took about 15mins to scan a 4gig usb stick (which i got free as a promotional item).
In my case, it was hardware dependent. Everything worked after i got rid of the "freebie".

Thx Hifix.
I've left the scan progress for hours and didn't make a difference.
Looks like there is some problem with the USB thumbdrive. From my Mac I can see the USB share with the thumbdrive folder within. Nevertheless, access is restricted and cannot browse the thumbdrive (KINGSTON).
I've SSH'ed into the Raspberry and /mnt does contain NAS, SDCARD and UPNP, but no USB.
I moved the USB drive to my Mac and could access it with no problem and play the tracks.
Any idea?

PS: I've added a second USB thumbdrive and same problem. I located thumbdrives in /media and can browse them with a SSH connection but cannot see them in the Browse tab.

Hi MartiSerrano,

Have you tried a fresh write to the u-sd card ?
I once tried writing to the u-sd card with win32diskimager and found it on a single occasion to be non bootable. It has been ok so far with Etcher.
Is the file checksum ok?

Hi @MartiSerrano,

Sometimes the updating spinner is not cleared even though the update has finished.

1) Does the USB dir exist in the Browse panel?

2) From ssh look in /media dir and see if your USB drive has been auto-mounted.

-Tim

Hi Tim,
1) Nope, it does not exist
2) yes, I can even list folder contents

I think I'll re-image the SD card and start from scratch.
THX
Martí

I have checked and power management is off for Wifi. I have looked at the RT priorities but have now been hit with a segmentation fault.

I have restarted server and router and no change. @Tim I agree that as it was working fine for a couple of days it indicates it must be something else...question is what.

I think next step is probably to reflash the SD card - I am using Sandisk Extreme cards so these should not be an issue.

Just finished re-flash and ok so far for 3 tracks (I could not listen to a single track before) - running 3.8 but previously had upgraded to 3.8.4 so maybe something got corrupted. Will stick with 3.8 to check for consistent performance and will then try upgrade after a week to see if there is any difference.

Have noticed there is some weird ghosting for the track time in the circle on the interface - almost like not clearing previous numbers in the display. Not an issue but have not see this before.

Also getting this (using a fresh download) - like banding across the numbers. A thin line of pixels above the numbers and a thicker one below don't refresh.

Also can't change the theme colour in the 'Customize' menu
